PILATES

Most people by this time have heard of Pilates created by Joseph Pilates in 1927. This was not the case in 1991, when Jennifer Reich (studio owner) first began teaching in the San Francisco Bay area.

Now there are Pilates classes at most gyms, videos you can purchase by mail and multiple studios that offer the equipment work.

So why come to Center Strength? If this method is done correctly, the results you can achieve in four to six weeks with sessions twice per week are remarkable.

How you do the work depends greatly on the knowledge and experience of your teacher as well as their ability to communicate in a way that makes learning Pilates fun, easy and highly effective.

Center Strength is the Denver area teacher training and certification studio for the New York-based PhysicalMind Institute®.

The teachers at Center Strength are all fully certified, extremely experienced and each very unique. Specializing in pregnancy, rehabilitation and sports conditioning, they each bring their interests and experience to the method.

Everyone who works out on the equipment must do 10 private sessions, (there are some exceptions if you have done Pilates before) then you can move into semi-private (2 people) and group (4 people) classes where everyone progresses together. In your private sessions, you will learn the basic exercises and the fundamentals. You will do customized routines that your teachers have developed with you, taking into consideration your personal goals and special circumstances. You also will learn about your personal movement patterns and how you can create balance, alignment and symmetry in your body.
